About Me!

Taylor Smith

Hi! My name is Taylor and I am a second year Organizational Leadership Major dually enrolled at Linn-Benton and OSU! I have lived in Beaverton my whole life, but I now live in Corvallis for school. Eventually I want to go into Human Resources and be a HR manager someday (hopefully for Nike)! I plan to live on the west coast once I graduate but I'm not sure where... I'm open to anything! If I do get a position at Nike, the headquarters are in Beaverton which would be nice to still be close to home, but in the long run, I don't see myself staying in/around the Beaverton or Portland area.

I enrolled in this course because I heard a lot of students say good things about it, as well as it is a requirement for my degree. I am opening to a minor in marketing since I do enjoy doing things like that, however, I am mainly committed to my degree in Organizational Leadership. I am most interested in learning about what grabs the audiences attention the most, as well as how trends have changed-as far as buying products and if advertising influences that increase/decrease of sales. I find marketing a huge learning experience for business related majors since having knowledge in marketing might put you ahead of someone who has no experience at all with it. You're going to generally see a form of marketing wherever you go in your career, so I think learning about it now will greatly benefit you for the future.

Outside of college, I am on the club soccer team at OSU and I play soccer on the IM leagues as well! I've been getting into running more but I'm far from being a "runner". I also love watching soccer, I am a fan of Hallaand and Messi. I plan to see Messi play in Florida this summer, which I'm super excited about! I also love animals, I've had many different animals growing up but right now I have a guinea pig, Henry, and I spend a lot of my time taking care of him. I also watch a lot of movies, I love series like Avengers, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc.

Soccer Team

Here is a picture of my soccer team. I joined my first year and I will be the co-president of the club next year which I'm super excited about! Being on this team has given me so many different opportunities and I've met some really amazing people that I'll likely know for the rest of my life. In a week, we are heading to Irvine, California for a tournament lasting from April 10th-14th!
